Work hard, bbq party even harder! I’m sure most, if not all, workaholics out there would agree with me. After a week of working our butts off, we all deserve to have a little rest and relaxation. And what better way to do this than to have a bbq party with our family and friends! So how does one throw a successful party? Let’s see, hot grill, ice-cold beer, beach… do these words help? I don’t know about you, but those words are more than enough to make me kick-off my shoes and get my toes in the sand!
Just as any other important event, bbq parties need an adequate amount of planning and preparation to ensure that everything goes perfectly for us and our guests. Here are some of the bbq party ideas that we could use to make it enjoyable. First, we have to make sure that we set the mood right for our party. We pick out a theme and incorporate it to our decorations and to our bbq party food. For example, if we want our party to be a Texas-barbecue inspired event, we could put cowboy accessories and Lone Star decorations. But if we just want it to be a general barbeque party, the classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths are always synonymous with it.
Barbecue on the Beach Anyone? The beach will definitely be the best place to have our bbq party. The serenity of the beach scene and the soft, salty ocean breeze will help us relax and ease out our tensions. The beach exudes an atmosphere of excitement and fun that makes the nature of grilling and barbecuing as a cooking technique more enjoyable. Plus, there are lots of activities that can be done on the beach. We can play beach volleyball or toss around a frisbee with our friends. And to add some flare to our party, we could put up a fire pit or chiminea for added lighting in the evening as well as for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows.
And let’s not forget the music. What’s a bbq party on the beach without the right tune to dance to right? Pop a disk of bossa nova or jazz in the player to help set the party mood for everyone. Here are some song suggestions for a perfect barbecue party; Soak up the Sun by Sheryl Crow, The Tide is High by Blondie and In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry. Next step is setting up our grill. There are many grill types that we can use for barbecuing on the beach – we can use the wood or charcoal bbq, gas grill or a portable bbq grill. Just be sure that we station our grill in a stable spot and away from any flammable material.
It’s also important for us to know what to wear to a bbq party. Since we’re celebrating it on the beach, we can dress in light, colorful clothing or throw on a western shirt, a straw hat, bright-colored shorts and flip-flops. It’s also essential for us to have a variety of cold drinks ready. We could set up a mini-bar filled with beers, margaritas, vodka, rum and a lot more. This gives our guests a wide array of drinks to choose from or even the chance to mix up their own drink.
Lastly, let’s not forget the most important ingredient of this bbq party – the barbecue! We can opt to bring some marinated meat, seafood or poultry. Just make sure to store it in a cooler and we should only take them out when we’re ready to start barbecuing to avoid spoilage. We could do that, or we could have the best bbq party catering take care of our food. And of course, don’t forget to pack those barbecue sauces and hot sauces to spice up our dishes.
