When I was about six years old, my dad put up a tire swing for me in our backyard. I remember how much I loved playing on that swing. I would sit there for hours because I found comfort and I felt safe there. Reading is one of my strongest passions but I can’t seem to find a decent place to do my reading in the house. Then I saw an intriguing advertisement about portable hammocks, so I bought one last year and voila! It solved my problem! The first time I lay down on that hammock, it brought back the same feeling of comfort and security that I had with my tire swing. Not only did it solve my problem, but it also brought back a wonderful childhood memory.
I know a lot of us refuse to buy a hammock because of the misconception that we need a tree or a post to tie it to. Hammock manufacturers has leaped a step ahead of us and solved that problem by inventing the portable hammock. Now all we need to have is an empty space in our backyard, garden or deck to set up our free standing hammock. And because it is portable, we can now take this little piece of heaven with us to the beach, park or if we want to go on camping. Portable hammocks can give us simple joys in our busy life. It reminds us to relax and have fun every once in a while.

We can lay down on it and do our sunbathing or we can simply listen to the waves or watch the beautiful beach scene unfold in front of us. We could also set it up in our own living room. Yes, a portable hammock is more than just an outdoor décor. We can take it to places and move it around as much as we want to. It is indeed one piece of furniture that can provide comfort, convenience and a great time. It should come as no surprise that people have replaced some of their regular furniture, such as beds and chairs, with a hammock bed and hammock chairs!

This model consists of a headrest pillow with a built-in radio that has both AM and FM frequency. It also has a cup holder where we can place our drinks and not worry about spilling them. The portable hammock stand that comes with it is made of steel that has hollow tubes which is very easy to set up. All you have to do is assemble the tubes and put the hammock in between. Another one is the Coleman portable hammock. Now we all know that Coleman is a revered brand when it comes to outdoor equipment. And they certainly did not fail us with their edition of the portable hammock. It’s durable and compact, we can simply fold it up and it will fit into our backpacks.
Portable hammocks are designed to be transportable so we can use them around and simply pack them away once we are done. Plus, the cradle design makes it all the more ideal for relaxing. I don’t know about you, but it certainly gives me the idea of sleeping like a baby. If there’s any disadvantage that a portable hammock should have, it’s that everybody wants it! If we don’t hurry up and buy one now, we may never be able to enjoy it’s luxury. I love my portable hammock. It has taken my relaxation into a whole new level and having it will always be a reminder of the child in me.
